It's the 20th anniversary of Sex and the City and Historic Downer Avenue is celebrating with an open house on Friday, June 8. Our happy hour is 5 to 8 pm and lots of retailers on the block have specials.

At 7 pm, Boswell will be hosting a presentation from Jennifer Keishin Armstrong, the author of Sex and the City and Us: How Four Single Women Changed the Way We Think, Live, and Love. Armstrong, a former Entertainment Weekly writer who is also the author of Seinfeldia, is a pop culture historian of the highest order and her books always have new primary sources. This event is free and no registration is needed.

Many of the participants are donating to Look Good Feel Better, a a non-medical, brand-neutral public service program that teaches beauty techniques to people with cancer to help them manage the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment.
